Getting the Scale Right
The perfect fixture can be ruined by the wrong proportions. As a general rule:
- Dining Tables: Your chandelier should be about 1/2 to 2/3 the width of your table. Hang it 30 to 36 inches above the tabletop.
- Kitchen Islands: Space pendants 24 to 30 inches apart. Leave 30 to 32 inches of clearance between the counter and the bottom of the pendant.

The Temperature of Light (Kelvin Guide)
- 2700K (Warm White): Cozy and inviting. Perfect for living rooms, bedrooms, and dining spaces.
- 3000K (Soft White): Crisp yet warm. Ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, and modern aesthetic spaces.
- 4000K+ (Daylight): Bright and alert. Best for task-oriented areas like home offices or commercial garages.

Layering Like a Pro
A beautifully lit room never relies on a single light source. Combine Ambient lighting (chandeliers/flush mounts) for overall illumination, Task lighting (pendants/desk lamps) for reading or cooking, and Accent lighting (sconces/picture lights) to highlight architectural features or artwork.
